Society Cafe – Baldwin St.
After the success of their Harborside coffee shop, Society Cafe returned to Shape looking to establish a new space in the heart of Bristol.
Unlike their quiet and sit-in style Harbourside venue, the new location demanded a different style of hospitality, with a more rapid turnover of customers.
A thorough process enabled the Shape design team to unlock the potential of an awkward existing footprint with high ceilings and deep plan.
The final material palette was heavily influenced by Society Cafe’s brand colour and accented by details in warm tones and natural timber.
Custom designed furniture throughout the cafe was made at the Shape workshop and brought to reality by the dedicated install team on site.
Shape have once again created and delivered a stunning space for Society.
The attention to detail is extraordinary and we all adore working in it.
Details, Details, Details…
Lightweight steelwork, finished in a dual tone textured coating, supports white ash timber boards throughout the cafe.
Slender format porcelain tiles wrap the bar front, featuring a glaze that is influenced by the traditional Raku technique.
Oversized panels of Richlite create a seamless bar worktop, hand-finished to a leathered texture.
An open and friendly space to show off Society Cafe’s speciality coffee
